VNA Community Healthcare collaborates with educational institutions to provide qualified individuals with opportunities to receive specialized training in the home care environment. The following list outlines our current relationships. We are also always willing to consider new educational programs and relationships, so please contact Lauri Rockwell, DQME, lrockwell@vna-commh.org.
HOME HEALTH AIDE TRAINING: Qualified individuals may be considered for agency support at almost any state-approved health aide training program. Most frequently, we sponsor students in the Naugatuck Valley Community Technical College training programs. If you are interested in receiving training at another organization, please contact Donna DiStefano, ddistefano@vna-commh.org, VNA Community Healthcare.
BRANFORD HALL offers students on-site training in such areas as insurance billing and medical secretarial functions.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY: Nursing students are afforded an opportunity to gain clinical experience in the home care setting through this affiliation.
YALE UNIVERSITY PSYCHIATRIC NURSING PROGRAM: Clinical rotations with VNA Community Healthcare provide students with direct experience in the specialized field of psychiatric nursing.
